The Very Berry is a festive, fruity little number that brings together Downpour Scottish Dry Gin, sweet vermouth, sherry and raspberry syrup for a deliciously smooth and sophisticated cocktail. (You can buy raspberry syrup readymade but it's extremely easy to make your own and is a perfect addition to your at-home cocktail cabinet.)
If you're looking for a simpler but just as tasty version, then our Easy Squeezy cocktail recipe works beautifully with either Downpour Dry, or Downpour Sloe and Bramble, depending on just how fruity you like it.
Garnish with Hebridean heather if you're lucky enough to have some, or with some additional raspberries, strawberries and mint for a vibrant, summery celebration of those Very Berry flavours.
35ml Downpour Scottish Dry Gin
10ml Sweet Vermouth
15ml Raspberry Syrup
20ml Amontillado Sherry
Garnish : Heather
Shake all of the ingredients
(include the fresh berries for the Easy Squeezy)
alongwith ice in a cocktail shaker.
Strain into a chilled glass.
Top with tonic (optional).
