Gin Sorbet

We love it when people send us Downpour related treats, especially when they come in the form of things you can eat. So you can imagine our beaming smiles when our neighbour Marnie sent us her most delightful recipe for Downpour Gin Sorbet which we wanted to share with you.

Sorbet

What you'll need

• 400g red rhubarb, chopped
• 190g golden caster sugar
• Juice of a lime
• 4 tbsp Downpour sloe and bramble gin

Get creating...

Pop your ingredients (not the gin just yet) into a pan along with 100ml water.

Heat slowly until sugar is dissolved, then simmer until the rhubarb has completely broken down. This should take around 15 mins.

Remove from heat and cool completely.

Then, the part you've all been waiting for - add your gin and blend ’til smooth.

Churn in an ice cream maker, or freeze, removing from freezer and whipping every 1/2 hour until frozen.

When it's ready, invite a friend round for a treat (or don't tell anyone about it and keep it all to yourself!).
