About this experience

Join us at Nunton Steadings Visitor Centre, home to North Uist Distillery, to learn about our distillery, the distillation process, Downpour Gin, whisky and island life.

The tour includes a visit to our new production hall and a taste of our new make spirit. Along the way we will share stories about the Nunton Steadings building that dates back to the 1700s.

This tour includes the option to sample the Downpour Gin range and our new make spirit. Or drivers can choose a 5cl Downpour Gin & tonic to take home.

• Adult Tasting: A 5ml sample of up to 5 x Downpour Gins (the full range) and a 5ml sample of our new make spirit.


• Driving packages are available, allowing you take home 50ml Downpour Gin Mini & Tonic of your choice. 


• Please ensure you wear appropriate footwear as the production hall has a mesh mezzanine deck and our cask room has a traditional cobbled floor, although very beautiful it is a little uneven underfoot. 


• Children are welcome - please call 01870603792 to book spaces for children to allow us to add in extra seating.   


• Please note that we require a minimum of four people to run a tasting. If we don't meet this minimum, we will get in touch to rearrange or organise an informal sampling at the bar. 


• We can take a maximum of 8 people, or price equivalent, on each tour and tasting session.


• Please note we are not always in production over the weekends. 


• A full refund will be given for cancellations made 24 hours prior to the tour.  No refunds will be available after this.  Please e-mail us to arrange a cancellation. 


• The building is fully accessible, however access to the production hall via mezzanine deck is unsuitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility, so an alternative route on the lower level will be used. 


• Unfortunately, we are unable to accept dogs on our tours and tastings.
