Art at North Uist Distillery

Green flyer for Après la Fête, an exhibition of paintings and prints by Keith McIntyre. The flyer has information about the opening times in white, and an image of an oil painting of a mermaid on it.

When we first moved into our new historic home at Nunton Steadings, the last thing we anticipated was it finding a temporary calling as an art gallery. But it turns out that those big, open spaces that are perfect for stills and casks, are also perfect for paintings, drawings, sculpture and installations!

We have been really excited to see the space at Nunton fill up with various exhibitions over the last year, taking in a wide variety of medias and inspirations, from book making to oil painting, drawing to sculpture.

Currently displayed throughout Nunton, with works in the stables, tasting room, and cattle shed, is Après la Fête, an exhibition of paintings and prints by Berneray artist, Keith McIntyre.

Après la Fête is inspired by stories and mythes of fêtes, of times of carnival and celebration, when food and drink is abundant. A fitting theme for our distillery home!

The exhibition will be up until June 22nd, and is open during regular opening hours at the distillery. Two images side by side of large scale oil paintings in a cobbled stable space with wooden ceiling beams. The paintings are in shades of bright, vibrant blues and depict fantastical figures.
