In true island spirit, we're not usually ones to boast but will happily make an exception, for we have won some very welcome plaudits at the Great Taste Awards - with 2 stars for Downpour Sloe & Bramble and 1 star for our Downpour Scottish Dry Gin. Woo hoo! And the judges supplied some pretty tasty chat to go along with these awards: 'Nice colour. Classic sloe notes. Bold flavour. You can taste the bourbon cask and feel its warmth. The gin sings. Good mixing product.'
'Red and warming with lots of fruit and dry smoothness that pairs extremely well with cheese. A really well-crafted gin, we tried this in every iteration - as a neat sipper, with tonic, simply over ice and lastly paired with cheese. It won on all counts.'
We're also delighted to have received a nomination for the upcoming Scottish Gin Awards in October - so keeping our fingers (and toes) crossed for that one. And as we aren't used to talking ourselves up so much, typing this has me blushing a rather bright red that's not dissimilar to the colour of our Sloe & Bramble Edition. Talking of which, you know what to do...
